Data Protection Statement

Here at Basingstoke Baptist Church, we take data protection extremely seriously, and we
are committed to handling all personal information in a lawful, transparent, and secure
manner. We comply fully with the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, ensuring that any
data we collect, store, or process is used only for appropriate church purposes, kept no
longer than necessary, and protected through robust administrative and technical
safeguards.

We recognise the importance of trust when individuals share their information with us.
For this reason, we regularly review our data-handling practices, maintain clear internal
procedures, and ensure that trustees understand their responsibilities under the Act.

If you have any concerns about how your personal data has been used, you are
welcome to raise them informally with the Church Secretary. Many issues can be
resolved quickly and amicably through an informal conversation.

If you feel your concern requires a more formal approach, or if you are not satisfied with
the informal resolution, you may submit a formal complaint through our formal
complaints procedure. This ensures your concern is documented, investigated
thoroughly, and responded to in accordance with our governance policies.
